Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon
  • of olive oil
  • 1 finely chopped
  • onion
  • 2 cloves crushed garlic
  • 4 chopped bacon slices
  • 500 g minced beef
  • 550g pasta sauce tomato
  • 2 cup broth (liquid)
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables
  • 250 g spirals of pasta
  • 1 1/2 cup grated cheese
  • 1 / 2 teaspoon salt and pepper to taste *

Method

  • STEP 1 Grease a 12-cup capacity ovenproof dish with a lid.
  • STEP 2 oil [19459006heat] in large saucepan and add the bacon, onion and garlic. Cook until the onion is soft.
  • STEP 3 Add ground beef, stirring occasionally for 5 minutes, or until meat changes color.
  • Step 4 Add the pasta sauce, photography, vegetables, salt and pepper. Bring to the boil. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • STEP 5 Add uncooked pasta spiral. Stir to combine and pour into a baking dish.
  • STEP 6 Bake, covered, at 180C for 30 minutes. Remove from oven, stir, sprinkle with cheese and bake, covered, for another 30 minutes.

Notes

For vegetables I used grated carrot, grated zucchini, chopped peppers or mushrooms cut depending on what I have at home at the time. I use the big Leggos of spiral pasta with red wine for flavor and I also added herbs.
