ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon of salt and pepper to taste *
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Method

  • STEP 1 Put the butter in a large microwave safe bowl and cook on high heat for 15-30 seconds or until melted.
  • STEP 2 Stir in flour until blended and smooth.
  • STEP 3 Stir in the milk, salt and pepper.
  • Step 4 Cook on high for about 2 minutes.
  • STEP 5 Stir and cook for another 1-2 minutes or until thickened.
  • STEP 6 Stir in cheese. Cook at high power for 1 minute.
  • STEP 7 Before serving, use a whisk to remove any lumps that have formed.
