Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 small grated zucchini
  • 1 small grated carrot
  • 350 g minced beef
  • 550g pasta sauce
  • 375g spaghetti
  • 2 cup bechamel
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan

Method

  • STEP 1 [19459006oilheat] in a pan and fry the onion, zucchini and carrot until onion is soft.
  • STEP 2 Add ground beef and cook until browned.
  • STEP 3 Add the pasta sauce and simmer for about 15-20 minutes.
  • Step 4 While the sauce is cooking, boil the spaghetti.
  • STEP 5 Combine spaghetti sauce and place in a saucepan.
  • STEP 6 Pour over the bechamel sauce, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and bake for about 30 minutes, until golden brown on top.

Notes

I use a tomato sauce that has more herbs added to it. white sauce seems to be readily available at the supermarket these days, but I prefer to do my own, if the weather permits.
